“The presentation was so overhyped that it was an embarrassment. They should have simply shown the footage and let us hear the coms directly. If you want to claim it is a real spaceflight, treat it like one, not a media event. It would have been more exciting if they hadn’t kept telling us how exciting it was.”
My reaction : “Totally agree, and in addition they should have had the honesty to announce clearly that all images were broadcast with a 5 minutes plus delay. “Live coverage” was a total lie. That doesn’t minimise the importance and succes of the event, but I really thought that Branson was a good communicator. But he adopted an approch known as “crisis communication”, in case something abdormal might occur. I can understand that decision but you must tell the millions that was the case.”
Réaction à l’événement d’un de mes amis de longue date dans ce secteur, grand spécialiste du spatial et dont j’apprécie les opinions. Commentaire en privé.
“Cher Martin, j’ai regardé BFMTV, LCI et France Info. J’ai vu les commentaires de Jean-François Clervoy, Jean-Loup Chrétien, de Christophe Bonnal et Gilles Dawidowicz, de Philippe Droneau, etc. J’ai beaucoup aimé la remarque de Dawidowicz : “le tourisme spatial : c’est la foire du trône” !!! Personnellement, je ne suis ni un fan de tourisme spatial, ni un fan des milliardaires anglosaxons Musk, Bezos et Branson !!! Pour moi, tout ça, c’est du “Bullshit” !!!”
