The Commons knows full well its duty, to act in the national interest. Unlike Cameron, May or Johnson who only put the future of their war torn party as their highest priority.
Lets not forget why the referendum was held, to placate Tories and Tory voters who were tempted by Ukip. So the fear of the potential fracturing of the broad church Conservative party has prompted everything that has happened since.

The fragility of sensible, forward looking and decent democracy has been exposed and poisoned by ignorant, populist rhetoric and vile sentiment. It’s mobilised some seriously deluded and stupid people to believe they have something worthwhile to say. In the digital world we live in that noise is easy to get our there.
It has empowered stupid logic and a neanderthal way of looking at life in the 21st Century, ironic given they use such high tech means of conveying their bile. Why do these people crave simpleton ways of looking at issues and solving problems?
One assumes because their brains are too small and undeveloped to deal with nuance, the semblance of a complicated picture, or what’s best for our offspring’s future. One ray of hope, most of them will be dead soon.
